Why don’t natural remedies work the same for everybody?
Natural remedies are a wise first choice for most common health concerns that would be treated at home. We just need to wrap our heads around the idea that we are all created differently.
What if panic could be replaced by knowledge?
A friend phoned me the other day. She was all ‘fired up’ because she had heard that the powers that be had made an executive decision about not treating children with ear infections until 72 hours after onset.

She vented at some length about what it would be like to be a parent who had to listen to a child scream for days. She suggested that it was time for me to get on the ‘cyber- soapbox’.
She said “people are ready for some serious information about natural remedies”.
What is different about natural remedies?
I know that this is the information age, and we are bombarded with all sorts of conflicting information. The difference with natural remedies is that we need to know some solid and practical things about what is unique about us. We cannot assume that someone elses cure-all’ has specific value for us.
Why is this so?
We are not all the same. The holistic viewpoint is not based upon the treatment, but upon the person.

We are all different and every person’s overall state of being is subjectively different. We have different ancestors, with different genetic strengths and weaknesses. We have had unique birth and formative year experiences.
Our Responses are Unique
Our vaccine responses are unique. Our nutrition and food styles are quirky and personal. Our resistance to bacteria and viruses are uniquely our own. The emotional stressors we experience and our resilience to these emotional stressors are profoundly our own.
Many people’s expectations have been shaped by the Pharmaceutical industry’s promotion of products offering instant acting relief. This is a dangerous path. Imagine if your mechanic cut the wire connected to the warning light on your dashboard.
No red light; no problemo!

Part of my role as a holistic health consultant, is to help people understand the basic functions of their bodies from a relational and holistic perspective.
What is really going on with you and why?
The more that we can understand about how our body functions, the more we can effectively support our body’s efforts using natural remedies.
I would love to know what natural remedies work for you and how it came about that you were willing to try a natural product? Was there a learning curve involved for you?
